  • This book is a memoir of the Japanese director Yukio Takikawa, consisting of autobiographical essays and short collections expressing the idea of drama. The book traces back from the beginning of his drama career, presenting the atmosphere of the small theater movement in Japan in the 1960s, his past with colleagues who later became well-known actors and playwrights, and the challenges faced after transforming into commercial theater, and I remember how to open the door to tour around the world.     Takigawa Yukio (1935-2016) was born in Kawaguchi City, Saitama Prefecture, Japan. He rose to the avant-garde small theater movement in 1969 with "Thinness full of love" and entered the field of commercial theater with "Romeo and Juliet" in 1974. Since then, as a representative drama director in Japan, he has been active on the theatrical stage in various countries around the world. He is the author of "Directing Techniques" (co-authored, Tsukuba Library), "Note 1969-2001" (Kawadura Study Co., Ltd.), etc.
